Meet Our Family & Staff

Our Commitment to Exceptional Service

At Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home, Inc., our dedicated and supportive staff is here to guide you through every step of this challenging journey with compassion and expertise. We take immense pride in our commitment to meeting your needs with the highest level of care.

Unlike many funeral homes that may place minimal emphasis on ongoing staff training, we at Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home hold ourselves to rigorous standards of professionalism and respect. We recognize the critical importance of continuous consumer service training, which is why we mandate that all staff members participate in state-required Continuing Education Courses. Additionally, our team is thoroughly familiarized with and upholds our firm’s traditions, culture, and policies to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience.

We understand that neither new graduates nor seasoned professionals are automatically equipped to meet the comprehensive consumer service obligations we set for our funeral directors. Therefore, we ensure that all staff members are properly licensed and registered, reflecting our commitment to excellence and ensuring that every aspect of your loved one's care is handled with respect and efficiency.

We are proud to introduce you to the management staff at Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home. Alongside the management team, a dedicated group of exceptional employees works diligently to make every experience personal and caring. Our goal is to serve you and your loved ones with the utmost sense of family and spiritual support.

Your trust in us is paramount, and we are committed to providing service that honors and respects the legacy of your loved ones with the highest standards of care.

Floyd A. Williams

Founder, Chairman of the Board

Cynthia A. Williams

Founder, Chairman of the Board

Floyd A. Williams is a distinguished graduate of the New England Institute of Funeral Directing, Cambridge College, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. As an ordained minister, he has devoted his life to serving both his faith and his community. Mr. Williams served with honor for seven and a half years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He made history as the first African-American appointed to the Massachusetts Division of Registration in Funeral Directing and Embalming, where he also served as the Board's Chairman.

With a deep and unwavering commitment to God, Family, and Community, Floyd and his wife Cynthia embarked on a faith-driven journey to establish the Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home. Mr. Williams firmly believes that "one blocks their dreams when they allow their fears to grow bigger than their faith." Over the past 37 years, he has dedicated himself to serving his community with unparalleled dignity and professionalism as a funeral director. As an Apologist of the Faith and a minister of the Gospel, he has also faithfully served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mr. Williams is now honored to pass the mantle of leadership to two exceptional African-American women, Dahria Williams-Fernandes and Jenelle A. Johnson, who continue his legacy of service with dedication and excellence.

Dahria A. Williams-Fernandes

President and Director

Dahria Williams-Fernandes is the youngest daughter of Floyd Williams and Cynthia Lopes Holbert Williams. A proud 2001 graduate of Hampton University, a historically Black college, she furthered her education at the Funeral Institute of the North East (FINE).

Dahria is a Licensed Registered Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Massachusetts and North Carolina. Her distinguished career includes serving as the Chairman and board member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Funeral Directing and Embalming, where she made history as the first African-American woman to hold a seat.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, over the years, Dahria has been an adjunct professor at FINE & Mount Ida College, where she taught Regulatory Compliance, Mortuary Law, Embalming/Duty of Care, Business Management and Funeral Directing. She holds certifications in Grief Education from David Kessler and is a certified Grief Specialist with the Grief Recovery Program. Dahria has also earned certifications in Art Therapy and as an End-of-Life Doula.

Dahria is actively involved with PAUSE, Inc., an organization dedicated to holistic support and community wellness. Alongside her husband, John Fernandes, she is a member of Grace Church in Avon, MA. Her unwavering faith in God is a source of strength and inspiration, which she extends to the families she serves with deep love and compassion.

Jenelle A. Johnson

Vice President, Chief of Operations and Director

Jenelle A. Johnson is the eldest daughter of Joseph and Jenifer Johnson of St. Michael's in Barbardos. Ms. Johnson is a graduate of Barbados Community College and a 2002 graduate of Mt. Ida College. She is a Licensed Register Director and Embalmer in the states of Massachusetts and North Carolina.

Jenelle has been a member of the Williams family since 2000. Her untiring dedication to funeral service has propelled her into the forefront of funeral service. Jenelle's ability to function under great pressure and sacrifice has caused all members of the firm to look to her for leadership and guidance.

Jenelle is truly, as Jeremiah says, "a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. She does not fear in time of trouble; her faith is always green. She has no worries in times of adversity and never fails to give us Jesus. She is a member of the Family Life Fellowship Four Square Church.
