Fannie Mae Williams

Fannie Mae Williams was born on September 10, 1939 to George and Fannie Smallwood, in Colerain, North Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts. Fannie graduated from Charles G. White HS in North Carolina and then moved to Boston, Ma in the late 1950s. She worked at JR Cigar Company where she met Charles Williams. The two later married and had four children: Alvin, Theresa, Charles and Van Keith. Fannie later went on to work at Boston Edison and while there she pursued and was awarded a certificate from the Burdett School for her completion of the Secretarial Office Services Program. After leaving Boston Edison, Fannie went on to become a foster mother to many wonderful children. Fannie was a member of Mount Pleasant Holiness Church under the late Bishop Charlie Hollins and later became a member of Saint Memorial's Church of God in Christ under the late Pastor David Ancrum. She served as an usher for the Lord. Fannie was kind, gentle and generous. She loved reading the Bible, praying and humming Psalms. She also enjoyed sewing, attending family gatherings and watching westerns on TV. Fannie is survived by her sons Alvin (Anna) Williams and Van Keith (Marsha) Williams, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Sarah Miller, cousins, nieces and a nephew. Fannie is preceded in death by her husband Charles Williams, her parents George and Fannie Smallwood, her brother George (Sally) Smallwood, her sister Hester (John) Freeman, son Charles Williams and daughter Theresa Carter.
