Phillip Slade

May 5, 1969 — May 23, 2023

Phillip Francis Slade, a free-spirited individual who embraced life on his own terms, bid farewell to this world on May 23, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories. Born on September 12, 1969, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Phillip touched the lives of many through his vibrant personality and unwavering devotion to his family. Phillip was known for his carefree spirit and his ability to find joy in the simplest of pleasures. He had an independent streak that led him to march to the beat of his own drum, never conforming to societal expectations. This unique outlook on life endeared him to those who knew him best. Phillip had an ardent love for baseball, basketball, and football, passionately cheering for his favorite Boston teams. He loved hip-hop music, breakdancing, and watching Kung-Fu and Sci-Fi movies with his brothers. He had an infectious energy that spread to those around him, making any moment with him a memorable experience. In service to his country, Phillip dedicated several years of his life to the National Guard and Army. His commitment and selflessness in defending his nation exemplified his strong sense of duty and honor. Phillip's courage and sacrifice will always be remembered with gratitude. As the youngest of eight children, he cherished the bonds he shared with his siblings. His surviving brothers and sisters, Virginia Hunter, Mark Slade, Gladys "Peaches" Slade, Christopher Slade, and Courtney Hamilton, will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Although Phillip did not have any children of his own, he found fulfillment and joy as an uncle who adored his nieces and nephews. He always held a special place in his heart for his loved ones. In passing, Phillip joins his late mother and father, Frances (Taylor) and Allen Slade, Sr.; his late siblings, Francesca Owens, Allen Slade, Jr., David Slade, Louise Renée Slade; and nephew, Charles Slade. Their presence in his life shaped him into the exceptional person he became, and their memories will forever be cherished. Phillip Francis Slade's departure from this world leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. His adventurous spirit, love for family, and independent nature will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to our beloved Phillip, may we find solace in the memories we shared and strive to live life as boldly as he did. Rest in peace, Phillip, knowing that your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
