Benjamin Franklin Hubbart was born December 15, 1937, to both the
late Mrs. Ada Murphy Hubbart and Mr. Morie D. Hubbart, Sr. in
Birmingham, Alabama.
The Lord ministered to Ben for many days before his journey home and
when the earthly conversation was done the Lord decided that it was
time for a face to face. Therefore, He called Ben home early Friday
morning on March 31, 2023.
Ben accepted Christ at an early age, and he truly loved the Lord. He
was called to be a Minister of the Gospel during his young adulthood
and he did so until his health would no longer permit him to do so. He
was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated
from Western-Olin High School. He served in the US Air Force …... He
lived most of his life in Boston, MA. He was a major believer in the
advancement of ones self. He was eager and most diligent in the
completion of his educational advancement. He received an Associate in
Applied Science Degree with an emphasis in Management from
Newbury College located in Brookline, Massachusetts. He furthered his
thirst for knowledge and received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from the
University of Massachusetts in Boston and a Bachelors in Theology from
J.K.F. University School of Theology.
Ben loved to bowl and he used it as a way to outreach children. He
helped them to shape their minds and focus in school, increase their
knowledge and improve their grades. He believed in children being
disciplined and displaying respect for their elders as he had been taught
as a child. Ben formed a bowling league for the youth and it was called
“Hubbart’s Youth Bowling Program”. Ben was inducted into the
Candlepin Bowling Hall of Fame in Boston for his great skill in this
sport.
Ben had been employed for over 30 years with the Massachusetts State
Senate, where he was employed as an Assistant Chief Court Officer.
This was under the Department or Sub-division of Sergeant of Arms
Senate from 1993 until his retirement. Ben truly enjoyed his association
with his co-workers and the many joyous times they shared. He counted
them as more than co-workers but as friends.
He married his dear wife Sally on October 18, 1986 and they remained
together for nearly 37 years until he was called home to be with the
Lord.
He was preceded in death by both his loving Mother and Father, four
brothers Jimmie, Morie Jr., Leroy, Walter and three sisters Mary, Carrie
and Elsie.
Loved ones who remain to cherish his memories his dear wife Sally
Hubbart, two dear sisters - Ada Warner of Hendersonville, TN and
Betty L. Moore of Hoover, AL., and a hosts of nephews, nieces, cousins
and friends.
