Rhonda Cynthia Howard

August 14, 1965 — February 3, 2023

Rhonda Howard, born on August 14, 1965, in North Carolina. She was a talented dancer and cook known for her passion for entertainment and stage. Rhonda rose to fame for her hip-hop choreography in her teens and early twenties and left a lasting impact on those she performed for. Her culinary skills were second to none, often surprising her family with midnight seafood dinners and other gourmet meals, especially her renowned soul food. Rhonda was not only a gifted dancer and cook but also had a heart of gold, always willing to help those in need, whether it be providing a place to stay or a hot meal. Rhonda moved to Boston in her early childhood with her parents Carolyn and Robert and her sister Kimberly. Once In Boston her family grew with the birth of her siblings Lamar, Corey, and Kiyanna. She fell in love with both the city life and the friends she made including her high school sweetheart. Rhonda began dancing in competitions and won numerous shows. Rhonda stayed in Boston and had four children: Rickia, Rondell, Jameelah and Jazzmen. Her family of siblings also grew with the birth of her brother Marcus and her sister Tara. With the support of her sister Kimberly, Rhonda raised her children in Boston, facing numerous battles and obstacles along the way, but her indomitable spirit and positive outlook helped her overcome them all. In 2017, Rhonda underwent a complicated brain surgery and defied the odds by surviving and regaining her ability to walk and talk. However, she was later diagnosed with cancer and, despite her valiant efforts, eventually succumbed to the disease. Up until her last day, Rhonda remained her comedic and entertaining self, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. Rhonda Howard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, including her parents, siblings, children, and four grandchildren Raniyah (who shares a birthday with her), Mia, Shai, and King. She leaves behind a large and loving family and a vast network of friends who will forever cherish her memory.
