Tanya Nikita (Jackson) Dolly of Hyde Park, MA was born on May 2, 1978 to Estella (Jackson) Young and the Late Charles Coleman. She departed this life peacefully in her sleep on March 3, 2022.
Tanya attended Brighton High where she. was nicknamed "Yoyo" because she resembled the female hip hop artist Yo-Yo with her high cheekbones, light hazel eyes and braided hair style. Tanya held that nickname until the era of social media, then she was known as "Jade". Tanya held many jobs in her lifetime from working security to working in a meat plant but upon completing her high school education, she became a certified nursing aide and started working for Abbey Road Home Care Services, she enjoyed working and helping her clients any way she could. Tanya bonded and developed friendships with her clients. While working as a nursing aid, she also managed to become a bus monitor and worked briefly for Boston Public Schools (BPS) until her health forced her to take some time off from both jobs. Tanya was actively enrolled with Mujeres Unidas Avanzando (MUA) and attended online classes to pursue her certification in phlebotomy at the time of her untimely transition.
Tanya had a love of music, she listened to all genres but her favorites were Hip Hop and Reggae. Tanya enjoyed dancing whether it was out and about or at home. She caught the attention of others with her sense of fashion. She was her own model, she knew what look she was going for and would accomplish the mission. Tanya was versatile with her hair styles, she never kept the same hair style for long. She would go from braids one day, long hair 2 days later, then to a cute short cut by the end of the week. She always kept up with her personal appearance. She enjoyed playing spades whether it be online with strangers or at a gathering with family and friends. She had a love of horror films, Halloween was her favorite horror film. Tanya was a fun loving person, but had her own way of doing things that might have ruffled the feathers of others, it was the Bull (Taurus) in her. She loved her family and cherished her children and granddaughter.
Tanya is preceded in death by her father Charles Coleman, her Stepfather Charles Young Sr., her siblings Linda, Aletrus (Lee Lee), and Anthony (Tony).
Tanya is survived by her mother Estella Young, her children Tanaya Jackson, Dereck (DJ) Dolly Jr., Nevaeh Jackson-Mills, her granddaughter Taliyah Jackson, her siblings Sharita (Rita), big brother (Shima), Charles Jr, (CeeJay), Troy, Cheryl, Kevin, Michelle (Dee Dee), Charlene and a hosts of other family members and friends.
Tanya has touched us all and will surely be missed and never forgotten. She will continue to live through us all from our personal memories of her and that we shared with her.
