My Beloved Husband Baba Heru Lester Nelson
May you be found Maa Kheru, True of Voice as you now become, One Among the Ancestors, on the Inner Realm.
May you continue to watch over, protect, guide, and teach us from the Celestial realm as you were steadfast and devoted in doing all the days of your life when you were here among us on the Terrestrial realm.
May you affirm, Inuk Ausar.
We Love You, Mer Asha Beloved.
Dr. Nteri Nelson
Lester Madison Nelson was born January 8, 1942 to parents Lilian and Lester Nelson in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Lester had one older sister Natalie and two older brothers, Landon and Curtis. Lester grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High & Latin. He joined the Nation of Islam at 20 and gives Praises to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad for the disciplines he learned in the religious practices of Islam. These aided in setting him upon a right course toward Spiritual Development, where he then met in 1985 and married in 1989 his wife, Dr. Nteri Nelson. He became involved in African Spirituality, the Primal source and origin Sacred teachings of the African Kemetic wisdom, with an African Centered Model of Education and Pan Africanism Orientation.
Together, they Cofounded the Academy Kemetic Education & Wellness, Inc. Where since 1999, they have been teaching an African Centered Model of Education and providing Right Relationship Counseling for the preservation of the African Family. As Spiritual Counselor and Licensed Minister, Baba Heru Nelson helped countless Couples in their marriages, and Individuals and Families. He was steadfast in educating others and relentless in the pursuit of justice for African descended people around the world.
Deeply pained by the assaults he saw upon us as a people, he spoke day and night about what needed to change and did what he could do toward this just and worthy cause. Of those who attended the Academy, he saw that many already had degrees from spacious and well-funded Universities, but came to the Academy to learn, what they did not learn in these Institutions, i.e., about Themselves, and the Contributions African people have and continue to make to World Civilization. He saw how the Academy made it possible for the students/Initiates to receive their Certification in an African Centered Educational Model and was generous in his time and sacrificing in purchasing a Space for a School where Truth would be taught, in teaching our community.
Baba Heru Lester Nelson has been dedicated to his family; a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and dedicated to his community as a Spiritual Counselor. He has had an entrepreneurial career, owning his own businesses, a store in the community, Cofounding the Academy Kemetic Education & Wellness, Inc., and purchasing his 1st house in his early 20’s. He has served as Salesman with Cable Vision and Driving School Instructor. He is author of a chapter in the book authored by his wife, On The Way To Finding Your Soulmate. His Soul purpose work in Life has been serving as a Spiritual Counselor to raise the consciousness of African descended people to their Greatness and the Greatness of their History, past and present.
He became Dad/Pop in helping to raise the 3 children, brought to the marriage, by his wife, Douglas Ward, Dustin Ward, Sandra Ward and became proud Dad again at 50 when the couple gave birth to their son, Saleem Taaj Sabree. He has 3 Children from a prior marriage, Frances, Sonja and Gary Nelson.
