Mary Ann Glover

Mary Ann Clayton-Goss was born on August 1, 1949, the first daughter of the late Willie Mae Goss and Lewis Clayton in Anderson, South Carolina. Mary Ann Glover peacefully transitioned from her earthly abode to dwell in the eternal tabernacle of her Lord and savior on Thursday September 16, 2021. Mary moved to Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 9 where she married and raised a family of four children. Mary worked for Polaroid Cooperation for over 30 Years, where she was a valuable and devoted employee until her retirement. Throughout her career she worked tirelessly to raise her children and grandchildren, always making sure everyone was well taken care of. Mary was a faithful woman who accepted the Lord in her life and her faith in Him saw her through. This steadfast faith helped her overcome many of life’s worldly challenges. Mary began as a member of Morning Star Baptist church in 1981. Later, she transitioned onto Mt. Sinai Baptist church where she was an ordained Deaconess and participated in various church roles. She enjoyed singing in the choir on Sunday morning and loved to fellowship and support in any way possible. Mary dedicated her life to her faith and to caring for those around her. Known for her generosity, Mary was a constant and consistent source of love and support for her family. Mary, also affectionately known as “Nanny”loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Mary was an excellent cook whose cornbread stuffing, banana pudding without the bananas and potato salad were family favorites. Her house, better yet the family headquarters, held every holiday event and was always open to all. Mary also loved going to the casino and her favorites were Twin River’s and recently Plain Ridge casino. Nanny enjoyed designing her home, she was an interior designer at heart. Every week there was something new or something changed. She loved to have a decorative house that changed with the seasons. Mary battled cancer and fought a good fight until she transitioned home to join her mother and Father, Brother Calvin, Leon, And Ansilee. Mary leaves to cherish and rejoice in the memories of her life 2 sisters: Nellie Jones and Christine Jones, 1 Brother and sister-in-law: L.C. Clayton and Tina Clayton, 2 daughters: Tanaka Goss and Tanya Glover, 2 sons and 2 daughters in laws: Stephen and Leotha Goss and Leroy and Brigette Glover. 12 Grandchildren: Darryl, Tyrell, Da’vaugh, Jamil, Stephen jr., TreLoren , Ta’saudia , Tyree, Simone, Da’shard, Nia, and Amari. 2 Great Grandchildren: Nasir and Xyla. And a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
