Linda K. Fields

November 29, 1959 — June 7, 2021

Linda Kay Fields, age 61, recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke at her home in Lawrence, MA. She succumbed to the injuries of the stroke and passed away at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA, on June 7, 2021, surrounded by her devoted husband, daughter, and siblings. Linda graduated from Northwestern High School in Flint, MI, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 41 years, Wayne Fields. Linda loved the field of cosmetology and later obtained her beautician's license in Massachusetts. Lovingly known for being a ‘Diva,' Linda was very passionate about hair, make-up, nails, and fashion. To cherish her legacy and the many fond memories, Linda leaves her loving husband, Wayne Fields; their daughter, Tiffany Majors (Mark) of Maryland; and two grandchildren, Beauty and Cherish. She is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, twin sister Brenda and Ruth Singleton; uncles, Alonzo, Fred, Ulysses, and Elex Singleton; and cousins Ishmael, Ricky, Demarcus, and Steve Singleton, Jr., and Elric Christian. Linda was a soft-spoken and caring person. She loved her husband from the tender age of 18 and lovingly called his name more than 20 times a day. Wayne was her everything. Linda adored her daughter and granddaughters and always encouraged them to be educated, independent, and well-dressed. She was so pleased with her son-in-law and was tickled that she blessed her and the family with a tribe of bonus grandchildren. Linda loved all her siblings and took pride in being the oldest. She would often share childhood memories of life in Boston with her siblings and would laugh about all the fun and trouble they would get into. They sometimes fussed as all siblings do, but, in the end, always had each other’s backs. Linda loved to talk on the phone with her friends and family. Days before her death, Linda called many of them and was able to leave them with expressions of her love. Nordstrom has lost a friend, MAC makeup lost their biggest fan, and the local thrift stores will never be the same. Linda is dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure. Today, we should try our best to celebrate, because Linda would want us to rejoice that she is with God. She has no more pain, no more suffering, and no more sorrow. For those reasons alone, we can go on in peace just as she has in Heaven.
