Leland “Lee” Matthew Cornin
Sunrise 6/8/2000 – Sunset 12/12/2020
Our sweet gentle giant, Leland affectionately known as “Lee or Biggie/ Biggz”, has been called home to be with the Lord on 12/12/2020. Leland Matthew Cornin was born 6/8/2000 in Boston, MA. Leland had a big giving and loving heart. He loved to be around his family. When he was younger, Leland was referred to as Sir Galahad a knight who was renowned for his gallantry and purity. Lee was a protector and looked out for everyone He cared a lot about people and often carried the weight of the world on his everyone shoulders. Leland craved acceptance by others and all he wanted was to have real friends that cared about him. He loved unconditionally. He never shied away from letting others know how much he loved his family especially his parents Deborah and Errol grandmother and little brother Theo. He would do whatever it took to protect them.
At an early age, God placed a calling on his life. As a young child, as soon as he was able to talk he would preach using an extension cord as his microphone and, give a good word. He often prayed for people. Leland Matthew Cornin was baptized in Jesus name at Antioch Apostolic Church in Cambridge, MA and was filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 6 ½. He had a discernment regarding people’s feelings. Leland did not like to see people hurt. He used to sing all the time and had one of the most beautiful voices ever. Lee was very smart. He could do math in his head when he was 3 years old and scored 97 percentile on the MCAS! He would have debates with his grandmother and often she would give up only because he already knew so much on the topic they were debating.
Lee had such a brilliant mind, but his soul was troubled. Leland had been abused, neglected, isolated, mistreated, and taken advantage of. In his short life, he had been hospitalized many times. He struggled and cried out for help but the system failed him, by overlooking him and diminishing his needs. The system has truly failed our Leland cried out for help way too long to no avail. Leland has praying parents who have always prayed for him. God knew the pain Leland endured. We are praising our Lord and Savior Jesus that Leland does not have to suffer anymore.
Leland was a loving generous and empathetic soul, which this cruel world did not know how to handle or embrace. He loved to be hugged on and to be surrounded by family. As his mother would call it, he was just a squishy huggy bear. Leland graduated from Boston Community Leadership Academy in 2019. Leland was looking forward to moving into his own place and ready to begin his next journey in life. Leland Matthew Cornin leaves to cherish his loving memories his parents Errol and Deborah Cornin. His younger brother Theophilus Maxwell Cornin, his sisters; Nicol Walker of New Orleans, Natasha Cornin of New York, Torran Anderson, Takeena Pullin and Tashanna Pullin of Savannah, GA, his grandmother Sybil Phillips (Nana), his favorite cousin Marc Anthony Peters, his God father Donald Desilus, his special friend Chelsea Cepeda and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. We will truly miss you. Leland Matthew Cornin was a young soldier dealing with so much pain who was taken too soon from us but he is in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
