Beloved sister, aunt, and surrogate mother to so many children of family and friends that she loved deeply.
Born in Boston Massachusetts, she was lovingly known as Dee, Aunty Mommy, or Newton. Donna never married and had no children of her own, but her loving sacrifice and maturity helped raise her younger siblings and paved the way for her to nurture and help raise many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless children of friends. She always put children before herself, a loving and giving soul no matter how little she had. She was the keeper of family information, birthdays, and countless memories.
Donna is the eldest of four siblings, late brother Ricardo Yore, brother Juane Cortez 3rd, and sister Melodi Greene. She also leaves to cherish her memory three step siblings, Symone, Darnell, and Barron Greene, sister in-law Alice Green, surrogate treasured son (AJ) Alexander Green, and closest friend (sister)Mary Henson.
Donna loved to laugh, be silly, play games, dress up for Halloween, and enjoy her old school R & B, and especially jazz music. She was known to everyone who was lucky enough to meet her, as the joke lady, with an endless arsenal of jokes, sure to leave you laughing. In her more relaxing time she loved to crochet, spending countless hours making quilts for family and friends, created with their favorite colors. Both tough and soft, her heart was genuine.
