Eddie Coren one of fifteen children born on July 22, 1948 born to the late Tempie and Leron Coren in Greenville, MS. He attended Lucy L Webb Elementary School and Coleman High in Mississippi. At a young age he worked as a field laborer with his older siblings in Mississippi.
In June of 1968 Eddie relocated to Boston, MA for a new beginning with the rest of his family where he attended Boston Trade High School where he graduated from. He went on to attend Boston College for Accounting. He then joined the Army National Guard and was Honorably discharged from the 101st Engineer Battalion in June of 1974. He went on to work as a Machine Operator and a Maintenance worker.
In 1979 Eddie met and fell in love with his wife Cheryle Coren of Boston, MA. He was blessed with four children. He understood the importance of family unity and always tried to close the generational gap. In 1993 Eddie moved to Memphis, TN. He retired as a foster parent after 19 years in which he adopted 3 children and fostered over 50 children and adults.
In 2013 Eddie moved back to Massachusetts enjoy retirement life. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns and, ESPN, and spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family.
On August 11, 2020 Eddie peacefully passed away. He is preceded in death by his siblings Phillip, Jerry, Victoria, Pearley, Maudie, Susie, Moses, Joe, Classie, and Willie.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories four children: Sean Jefferson, Cheryle Jefferson, Terressa Jefferson, and Eddie Coren Jr, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren, his siblings, Katie, Leron, Henry, and Dorris, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
