Minnie M. Davis

November 22, 1933 — May 27, 2020

1933 – 2020 Minnie Davis-Beasley was born on November 22, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Jack and Mary Westley. Minnie moved to Boston where she raised her eight children and worked as a Nurse’s Assistant until she found her true passion in childcare. Minnie was unconditionally loving and caring. She was well known and loved by everyone who came in contact with her. Her greatest joy was being an avid care taker of children. She was a mother of eight, but raised more children than what could be counted. She was the mother of mothers. She began taking care of children on a regular basis once she ended her career as a Nurse’s Assistant. It became her favorite job of all. Minnie also enjoyed cooking. She was well known for cooking big family dinners during the holidays and hosting cookouts. One of Minnie’s favorite past time was fishing! Not only did she love to fish, she took pride in coming home cleaning, preparing and cooking her fresh catch. Whether you knew her as Minnie, Minnie Pearl, Ma, Mother, Grandma, Nana, Nona, Aunt Minnie or Ms. Minnie, you knew you were LOVED. There are so many memories we ALL hold within our hearts for her. She will be missed but ALWAYS remembered. Minnie leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Oscar and Johnny, her sisters Clara, Mary (Wink), Louise and Marcella, her children Frederick Talbert (Fred), Barbara Davis (Ann), Mary Davis (Dewa), Harry Davis (Pop), Jack Davis, Iilessia Davis (Lisa), Maxcine Beasley and Brenda Beasley. Preceding Minnie in death is her brother Albert. Also cherishing her memory is a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, extended family and lifelong friends. Draw Near Prayer God of Mercy and Love, draw near to us as we go through this tough time in our lives. We know that our loved one is enjoying your glory right now, but it still hurts to know that we are separated from her. May your presence be with us everywhere we go, and may you remind us of the good times that we shared when she was still here. May we feel the love that is being extended by others who have come to join us during this time of grieving. In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen. Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that once we shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone. It's all part of the master plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do. Miss me, but let me go. ~ Christina Rossetti
