David Degen Griffiths

April 12, 1991 — April 19, 2020

David’s Life and Legacy David D. Griffiths was born on April 12, 1991 in the lush hills of St Elizabeth, Jamaica to Degen and Joan Griffiths. The last of their four children together, he was the baby of the family. He attended the Mulgrave Primary School in Jamaica prior to migrating with his family to Boston Massachusetts in January 2000. David graduated with several awards from Berea SDA Academy, served in the Creative Arts Drama Ministry at Pine Forge Academy, attended Tech Boston Academy, and was a proud graduate of the Framingham SMOC Program in 2019. As a child, David sang in the church choir, loved playing the drums, and was a competitive karate kid. His wealth of knowledge, sharp memory, and determination allowed him to accomplish anything he envisioned for himself. David was a devoted father and partner who had deep love for his family and friends. He often traveled between Dover and Boston to maintain strong, long-lasting relationships. He was also an avid and aspiring musician and songwriter. Following in the footsteps of his father and siblings he developed deep interest in music and audio production. His attention to detail and dedication to his lyrical craft was unmatched, and he proved himself through various stage performances, radio interviews, and collaborations with local and internationally renowned artists. David also had a passion for building and repairing cars, and most recently worked as an auto mechanic at Bernardi Honda in Natick. David is preceded in death by his father Degen. His legacy lives on through his two beloved children Justin and Davina. He is survived by Erin, his loving partner of over 11 years, his mother Joan, brothers Christopher and Damiel, sisters Sue-Ann, Deidre, and Candice, as well as a large extended family and a host of friends. David will be remembered as a “strong man”, and a leader that always had an infectious smile. He had a quick wit, kind compassionate heart, and an unwavering love and commitment to his family and friends. Sleep on sweet David until we meet again.
