Rosa Beatrice Sutton

September 19, 1940 — March 9, 2020

Rosa Beatrice Sutton was born on September 19th 1940 in Colerain North Carolina to the late Thomas Bembury and late Gladys Beatrice Bembury of Ahoskie North Carolina. She attended R.L. Vinn High School in North Carolina. She later moved to Brooklyn New York where she married the late James Edward Sutton of Cofield North Carolina. Between 1967 and 1968 she moved to Boston Massachusetts. Rosa resided in Dedham Massachusetts when she departed on March 9th 2020. Rosa worked as a factory worker in Queens NY until she moved to Boston Massachusetts. She briefly worked for Sears Roebuck and then transitioned to a career in education. Rosa worked for the Boston Public Schools for over 20 years as a Paraprofessional, where she was loved and was well respected among her peers. Rosa also worked at the Convalescent Nursing Home in Hyde Park for over 5 years. Rosa was a woman of God who loved to worship. She was a member of the gospel group (The Gospel Stars) of Mount Sanai. She was also a member of The Mount Pleasant Holiness Church where she served as an usher, a member of the Adult Choir, and she formed a young choir (The Sunshine Band). Rosa loved to bake. Her family always looked forward to her famous biscuits (especially her cheese biscuits), sweet potato pies, and her son’s favorite pineapple cake. Rosa loved being around people whether you were family or not because she loved the company. She loved music and she loved to dance. Whether she was cooking, cleaning, or at a family gathering any chance she had she would be the first on the dance floor. The other thing she loved to do was her puzzle books. She would do her puzzle books from the time she woke up until whatever time she decided to go to bed. One of the easiest Christmas gifts to buy her were lots and lots of puzzle books. She was predeceased by 1 sister Edna Mae Speller, her 3 brothers James Bembury, Thurman Bembury, and Johnnie Bembury. Rosa leaves behind her three children Faith Sutton-Vaughan (Joe C. Vaughan) of Dedham Ma, Richard E. Sutton (Maria Knight-Sutton) of Franklin Ma, and Phyllis M. Sutton (Robert A.Scurti) of Halifax Ma. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 predeceased great grandson, 1 great great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind 3 sister-in-laws Betty Bembury, Mamie Irby, & Barbara Overton, and 1 brother-in-law Jack Sutton. ~ We Live-steaming All Services ~ Come Join us for the Celebration of Life and Legacy on March 25, 2020 For access to the Service you have two options: 1.
