Almetta Cooper

Almetta Quanita Cooper (Nita) was born on May 5, 1965 in Boston, Ma. to the late William T. Cooper and Yvonne Cooper. She transitioned from this life on October 1, 2019. Nita, as she was affectionately known was the youngest of four children born to William & Yvonne. As the youngest, Nita was always the one to stir the pot and keep everyone on their toes. She had an extremely outgoing personality that definitely left an impression on anyone she met. Nita was such an entertainer, always the loudest and funniest with an uncanny ability to provide comedic relief at any time, which drew people to her. Everyone loved being around Nita because they knew they were in for a fun filled time. She would have you crying with the things that came out of her mouth and the crazy dance moves she’d make up on the spot. You could pick Nita out of a crowd! She literally stood out. Nita loved people. She also loved to serve and cook. You could always depend on Nita to serve dinners to the seniors, church events and even families. She loved the holidays because she knew there would be a big spread, of which she wanted to cook the most. Thanksgiving was her best holiday because Nita also loved to eat. She also knew that was the time of year when we’d break out the chitterlings. She was always ready to get them early, take them to her house and clean and cook them by herself. She felt that if she cooked them, they were guaranteed to be good, which was true! She never disappointed! Though, we always suspected that Nita was putting some chitterlings to the side for herself but that was okay too. Traditionally, she would even clean and cook chitterlings for other families as well. She also worked as a PCA before her disability and attended English High School. Nita’s had a magnetic personality and anyone she befriended she gave a crazy nickname. She exhibited genuine love in her own way and you felt it. Her sudden passing leaves a void which can never be filled. Memories of her are etched in our hearts forever. She’s left us with cherishable moments to last a lifetime. Nita was larger than life! While loved and feared by most, we will carry the laughter and love she gave to us eternally. Almetta Quanita Cooper was predeceased by her father, William T. Cooper and leaves behind to cherish her memories; her mother Yvonne Cooper, her sons Dimitri (Mitri)Cooper of Atlanta, Ga, Christian D. Cooper, of Boston, and Sylvester (Kim) Cooper of Boston, her grandchildren Aniyla, A’yonnie ‘Sky, A’Kyliez and Christian Jr. Her sisters Sartreina M. Dottin(James) of Littleton,Ma, and Cothenia D. Cooper of Dorchester, Ma., her brothers Fernanda and Leroyal of Roxbury Ma., her partner Sylvester Davis along with a host of extended family, nieces, nephews and friends
