Lidia DePina Cabral, daughter of the late Benjamin and Joaquina DePina, was born on February 2, 1935 on the beautiful island of Fogo, Cabo Verde. Lidia was united in matrimony to Manuel Socorro Cabral and their marriage was blessed with nine children. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lidia came to America in 1969 and although she did not speak any English, she started working right away at a company that laundered linen to help provide for her family. While she never learned to read or write English, you would never know it by the way she could recite and find scriptures in the bible and her ability to navigate the world around her.
Affectionately know to her family and close friends as Titia, she had a playful and kind spirit and loved to laugh and joke around. Her playful spirit always put a smile on everyone’s face. Titia loved to sew and make her own clothes. She loved gardening, especially flowers and growing her own vegetables.
Titia, committed her life to serving Jehovah and was baptized on July 19, 1992. Anyone who knew her would recall that she spoke to everyone about Jehovah God and his purpose for this earth. She worked as a pioneer committing herself to spreading Jehovah’s Word.
Lidia was called home on July 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by her first born son Antonio Cabral and survived by her children: Mario Cabral, Leopoldina Dunn, Francisco Cabral, Madueno Cabral, Joseph Andrews III, Dulcelina Cabral, Clara Cabral, Claricia Cabral, Julie Cabral, Marlene Cabral, her siblings, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
