Naomi Juanita Washington Lott was born on May 4, 1939 in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Martha Smith and Robert Washington. She was raised in Albany New York and attended Hackett High, where she was a majorette for her school band and she also sang in her church choir. In 1969 she re-located to Boston Mass with her three children Maritha, daughter and two sons: the late Janson and Eric. As a single mom she worked many jobs, one being IBM until their doors closed then Polaroid Corp in Waltham, while there she attended Roxbury Community College, where she got her GED at the age of 30. Naomi then worked for Gillette, where she retired.
Naomi loved to volunteer her services and help her community, she was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts also a Grand Parent Aide for A.B.C.D the head start and early head start program at Walnut Grove, where she loved working with the babies and always talked about going back one day. She also was a diligent volunteer to “man” the voting polls when needed.
Naomi was baptized on February 22, 1987 and became a member of People’s Baptist Church on March 1, 1987.
Naomi will always be remembered for her kind spirit, she was a nurturer who’s warmth was felt by anyone who had the opportunity to be in her presence. Her amazing smile warmed your heart. Naomi was proud of being fashionably dressed. Only she could wear white to a cookout and leave as clean as she walked in and only Naomi could find a way to rock leopard in a Christmas outfit. :)
Naomi was preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Janson also her daughter, Nadine her brothers Robert Duke and Bill.
Naomi leaves to cherish her memories her children, Maritha Van Ness Green, daughter; Eric Dwayne Lott Sr., son and his wife Cassandra. Naomi also leaves a host of Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren and great grandchildren and many dear friends.
