Denzil Langley

December 16, 1939 — June 29, 2018

Denzil Langley was born on December 16, 1939 in Clarendon, Jamaica, WI. The son of the late Thomas Langley and Lilybel Williams.  Denzil received his primary education at the Mount Liberty All Age School and then entered the workforce. His first jobs were as a butcher and a farmer in his hometown in Jamaica.

In his early twenties, Denzil met Alice Gayle who had recently moved to his District.  He and Alice developed a life-long relationship and bore six children.  In 1979 they were married on his birthday and soon thereafter migrated to the US and resided in Boston, MA.  In the US, Denzil switched careers and was gainfully employed in the Environmental Services Department of Brigham and Women's Hospital for 27 years until his retirement in 2008.

Although not a regular member of a congregation, Denzil was a baptized member of the Pentecostal faith and supported the religious beliefs of his wife and children. His favorite pastimes as a young and mobile man were playing cricket and dominoes, and socializing with his friends. Once his mobility became impaired, Denzil, delighted in having friends and family visit with him and followed Boston sports team on TV and the CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless.  Shh, he was a fan of Victor Newman.

Denzil was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.  He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Alice, his loving children Marjorie, Vanessa (Wesley), Velma (Garth), Paula, Nadine (Frank), and his only son Paul. Ten siblings, seven grandchildren, and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
