Gwendolyn Elaine Fenty was born on February 29, 1936 in St. Michael, Barbados to Enid Fenty and Elenza Bowen. She worked in several capacities until she immigrated to Boston in 1972. While living in Boston she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several nursing homes until her retirement. Gwen as she was affectionately known loved to shop and travel and did so quite frequently in her early years. She enjoyed shopping at Xmas time when she would spend hours in the mall looking for gifts for her grandchildren only to return home when the stores closed for the night.
