Samuel Bent

Samuel Bent also known as Dad, granddad, uncle, brother, and “Ruff House”, was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica September 16th, 1946, to the late Dolores Williams, and Ainsley Bent. His personality, seemingly larger-than-life, filled the room with laughter. He was charming and charismatic and always had an opinion about politics, current affairs, or music. A true music enthusiast, he had an expansive collection of vinyl (records) and wouldn’t hesitate to put together a mixtape for you with the best old-school jams. Your love for music is infinite. And this love for music will pass on through multiple generations.

While in Jamaica he worked in the construction industry. He moved from general labor to using heavy equipment to haul lumber.

He came to Boston in 1984 where he worked in the Newlywed Food Company for many years. During his leisure time he played dominoes and was often found playing at the Conways Club. Missa lover, lover, his reputation superseded him. He loved and was loved by his life companion. Their star-crossed love continued until his last breath.

Samuel Bent is preceded to heaven by his mother Deloris, his father, Ainsley, his sisters Jean, Joan and Nellie, his brother Sidona and his ex-wife Cecelyn. He is the father of; Diana, Samuel Jr., Cassandra, Mark and Carlington. He is a grandfather of eleven; Savoi, Kendael, Samira, Tedesha, Camilia, Samantha, Sasheika, Mark Jr, Imani, Esperanza, and Sheena; Great grandfather of five; Codeine, Romaine, Oswald, Reign and Shayna; His sisters Pearline, Sandrene and His brother Charles (Winsome) nieces, nephews, and many friends here and abroad.

Samuel Bent, gained his wings jamming to his music on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025.
