Pedro Fernandez, 89, passed away on July 6, 2024, in Boston, MA.
Pedro Fernandez was born on May 20, 1935 in Pun̈al Santiago, Dominican Republic, to Ludovino Fernandez and Luisa Guzman.
Pedro started his career as a masonry worker who helped renovate the Old City, El Conde, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He was later a camera man who worked for Channel 13 in the DR. Upon arriving to the USA, he worked as a Kitchen Steward at The Sheraton Boston Hotel and went on to work there for 37 years until he retired.
Pedro and Aurelia Fernandez were married for 60 years. They were married in Santo Domingo, DR. The couple had 4 children, Erodita Fernandez, Vivian Bennett, Efrem Fernandez and Atalia Lafleur-Fernandez. From a previous relationship he had 3 beautiful daughters Bienvenida Fernandez, Chabela Fernandez and Flavia Fernandez.
Pedro was best known for being a fun loving family man who enjoyed listening to music, praying, reading the Bible, playing dominos and engaging with strangers often offering a warm smile, a handshake and a piece of candy! He had an amazing sense of humor and blessed everyone with his love and compassion.
Pedro was Catholic, as a young boy he served as an alter boy. He was a devoted Christian who taught and shared his spiritual learning and experiences about his personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Aurelia Fernandez, Bienvenida Fernandez - daughter, Chabela Fernandez - daughter, Flavia Fernandez - daughter, Erodita Fernandez - daughter, Vivian Bennett- daughter, Efrem Fernandez - son and Atalia Fernandez - daughter. In addition, he was also survived by 20 grand children and 21 great grand children.
