Linda Green, age 75, of Boston, Massachusetts, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on February 9, 2025. Born on January 31, 1950, in Newbury, South Carolina, to the late Emily Green and Wiley Wright Sr., Linda was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Elizabeth and Anthony Wright.
Linda was a proud graduate of Blaine Hair School, where she obtained her Cosmetology License, and also attended Roxbury Community College. She dedicated much of her life to her career at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, before retiring.
Known fondly as "Ma" by her grandchildren and a host of family and friends, Linda had a vibrant and joyful spirit. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, and was a true social butterfly. She could often be found chatting on the phone with family and friends, shopping for stylish clothes, getting her nails done, and indulging in one of her favorite things—sweet potatoes. Her sweet potato pies were a family favorite, and many fondly remember her delicious creations.
A woman of unwavering faith, Linda instilled her strong beliefs in her children, guiding them with love and devotion.
Linda leaves behind four beloved children from her marriage to George Lawrence: Shonda Green, Terry Lawrence, Chaleatha Wilmot, and Chalean Lawrence. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Jamal, Hector, Devari, Antoyne, Samantha, Clifford, Jr., and Asharí, and six great-grandchildren: Mariah, Jamal Jr., Aaron, Jason, Javalli, and Zane. She is also survived by her siblings: George Wright, Larry Wright, and Denise Davis, nieces, nephews, and a loving community of family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her loving stepmother, Mary Wright, and her brothers: Wiley Wright Jr., James Wright, and Herman Wright.
Linda is now in the loving arms of God, reunited with those who have gone before her. The family finds comfort in the words of Psalm 23, which will forever be a guiding light.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. - Psalm 23
