Laurence Dennis Davis, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. Born on December 29, 1950, Laurence was the son of Lucille Davis and the late Malcolm Maxwell. He was a devoted father to Janelle Austin, Laurando Davis, Adrian Nichols (Tracey), Tamala Williams-Hector (Malik). Loving grandfather to Laumero Davis, Ayana Nichols, and Ayesha Nichols. He adored his cherished partner, Dorine Williams.

Laurence was a cherished brother to Stanton Maxwell, Jennifer Davis-Boynton, Marcia Davis, Ambrose Davis-Lawson (Erick), Patricia Davis, Gail Maxwell-Ramsay, Joan Maxwell-Shepherd, Cheryl Gordon, Michell Prescott and the late Marcelle Maxwell-Neal. He was a proud uncle to Peter Donnell Boynton, Samuel Davis, Emanuel Davis, Jennifer Davis, Michael Davis, Nathanael Haynes, and Alexis Davis-Smith, Christopher Maxwell, Stephen Gordon, Sheldon Shepherd, Duane Shepherd, Jarrod Ramsay, Justin Ramsay, as well as a beloved nephew to Barbara Davis-Caddle, Shirley Smith, Louise Davis, and Henderson Maxwell. Laurence also leaves to cherish his memory a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends and families Rudelle Fenty, the Davis’, the Williams, and Osborne families.

Laurence attended Roebuck and St. Leonard’s School in Barbados. For the past 30 years, Laurence worked diligently for Aramark Services and Sodexo, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he played hockey, soccer, and cricket at the Empire Club in Bank Hall, Barbados. Laurence served with distinction as the first Division hockey captain for the Empire Club’s hockey team, which lead him to several division championships. One of his proudest achievements was representing Barbados in the 1982 games in Havana, Cuba, a testament to his athletic talent and commitment. Laurence traveled extensively and to that he needed two passports stapled together in order to accommodate his passport travel stamps. Laurence was inducted to the Barbados Hockey Federation, Hockey Hall of Fame in recognition for his sportsmanship and contribution to hockey.

Laurence was a man of unwavering love and devotion. His warmth extended beyond his immediate family, making everyone in his circle feel embraced and supported. He taught the men in his family the true meaning of protection, responsibility, and chivalry—not just as an idea, but as a way of life.

An excellent cook, Laurence took great joy in preparing meals for family gatherings and celebrations, where his presence was always a source of comfort and joy. He believed in the promise of hard work and the importance of helping others, values that he instilled in those around him.

A member of All Souls Church in Barbados, Laurence remained steadfast in his faith until his very last day. He firmly believed in the goodness of God and lived by the conviction that "what God has for us, is for us."

Laurence appreciated the entire team and staff of Boston Medical Center Hematology and Oncology especially his nurse Ellen Munger, Ashley Stanton, Lauren McCall and Dr. John Sloan who worked tirelessly to prolong his life and left no stone unturned. Laurence Dennis Davis will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
