Keith Junior Rutty also known as Rider, age 63 passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Boston Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on April 14, 1955, in Saint Mary to Edwin “Sunny” Rutty and Daphne” Vie” Johnson (née Hoilett). Junior graduated from Wallingford Primary School in 1970. He later became a police officer in the Jamaica Constabulary Force for many years. Junior truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; although he was blind, he enjoyed hanging out at the park chatting with his friends and enjoying a beer.
Junior is survived by his children, Stephanie, Karen, Kerry-Ann, Clifton, and Anthony, sons-in-law O’Neil, Newton, daughters-in-law, Avagail: thirteen grandchildren, brothers: Courtney, Kay, Peter, Herman and sisters-in-law Sandra, Alecia, Maisy, special friend Tonia Brinson, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Daphne and father Edwin. He will be sadly missed by his families: The Hoiletts[w1] , Ruttys and Browns. Funeral arrangements are at the Floyd Williams Funeral Home, 490 Columbia Road, Dorchester MA. 02125. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 2nd 2018 at Gladtidings House Prayer, 573 Norfolk St, Mattapan, MA 02126. Viewing is from 9:30am- 11:00am, followed by funeral services with Reverend Francois officiating. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends immediately after the burial at 16 Lincoln Street, Hyde Park 02136.
