Karen L. Floyd, age 78, of Boston, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 26, 1946, in Boston, Karen was the daughter of Thomas and Rita Rogers. She was the oldest of 11 siblings and is survived by 7 of them, who, along with her extended family, will carry on her legacy. Karen had a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Karen dedicated her life to raising her six loving children: Tracey, Lisa, Luther, June, Lythia, and Joey. Her greatest joy was nurturing and guiding her children, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Known for her generosity and compassion, Karen touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A woman of deep faith, Karen loved the Lord with all her heart. Her strong belief in God guided her every action, and she was a constant source of strength and inspiration to those around her. Karen was a woman of prayer, a loving example of grace, and a true reflection of God's love.
Karen had a passion for fashion and music, often expressing her creativity through her unique style and love for discovering new sounds. She also had a deep appreciation for literature and was an avid reader who found comfort and joy in her collection of books.
Karen had a heart open to all and was always ready to offer a listening ear, a warm hug, or words of encouragement. Whether it was a neighbor, a friend, or a stranger in need, she made everyone feel valued and understood. Her home was a place of refuge where others could find solace and support. Karen believed in lifting others up and made it her mission to spread kindness and love wherever she went.
Family gatherings were always special under Karen's care. She loved cooking large family meals, telling stories, and celebrating milestones with her children and grandchildren. Her influence and wisdom left a lasting impression on those around her.
She is survived by her six children: Tracey, Lisa, Luther, June, Lythia, and Joey; her sixteen beloved grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; as well as great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her seven surviving siblings, a multitude of nieces and nephews, and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Karen leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
