Freida D. Rankins

December 17, 1988 — November 5, 2024

Freida Denise Rankins fondly known as "FreeFree" was born in Boston, MA on December 17,1988, to Pamela Worrell and the late JohnL. Rankins. Freida is proceeded in death by her stepfather Frank W. Worrell, her grandmother Freida Coleman, her uncle Edward Coleman, and aunts Ronel Brown, and Geraldine Coleman.

Freida was educated in the Boston Public Schools. When she became an adult, she worked multiple jobs. However, her greatest passion was cooking and caring for others. She was often found in her kitchen all hours of the day cooking for her loved ones. Her best dish was roast beef, which could melt in your mouth.

Freida was full of life. She loved being around her family and friends and she enjoyed a good glass of wine. Freida loved game night most of all, playing Spades and Tunk.

Freida was a loving person who would give you the shirt off her back. If you needed her, she would come day or night. She was very outspoken and would never back down from a fight. She had many loves, but most of all she loved God and her children.

Freida joined the Historic Charles Street A.M.E. Church under the pastorate of the Reverend Dr. Gregory G. Groover, Sr. She loved listening to the sermons and the inspiring music of the Gospel Choir (her mother's choir).

Freida leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Pamela Worrell; her children Dayshawna, Zyair, La'Nisha, Zanalese Rankins; her siblings Dana (Tawanda) Coleman, Tristan (Rochelle) Coleman, Daniele (Quentin) Speed Worrell, Christopher (Alicia) Coleman, Donald Rankins, Shelia Speller; her adopted siblings Ernesto Barber and Nicole (Koko) Garrison; her aunt Wanda Pryor, Leslie Bishop of Georgia, Dianne (David) Clay; her uncles Marc (Isilda) Coleman, Ronald (Debra) Coleman, Albert (Michelle) Brown; her great uncle George (Dee) Bishop, Uncle Ernie Bishop all of Boston MA; her Godbrother Christopher Louis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends including Monica Barros.

Special Thanks to the staff at BMC who took care of Freida, day and night, Reverend Groover, Sister Gwen Clark, Sister Linda Dorch and Sister Charmaine Brown.
