Eleanor Rose, 80, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Dorchester, MA. She was born on November 24, 1943 in Boston, MA, to Florence LeMar.

Eleanor graduated from Burke high school and went on to earn an associates degree as a secretary. She started her career as a telephone operator for 911. Eleanor was a headstart teacher for many years. She would create her own educational games. She wanted to open her own resource center. She was a girl scout leader for a number of years, giving her more time with her daughters. Her last place of employment was at Joseph Pollak as the main switch board operator.

Eleanor married Alfred Rose on February 11, 1967. The couple had 3 children, Alfred Rose, Antoinette Rose and Jennifer Rose. Eleanor welcomed Al's two older children Lisa and Kim as part of her family.

Eleanor was best known for family camping trips, reading, poking around stores, all kinds of puzzles, especially word searches and solitaire. When her hands were working good she would crochet for hours some of you may still have a quilt she made. In her down time she loved the talks shows and game shows. She loved a good life time movie and could watch Christmas movies and Hallmark mystery movies on repeat. DIY home make over shows intrigued her and made her think of the changes she wanted in her own home.

Eleanor is survived by her son Alfie, her daughters Toni and Jen. Her step-daughters Lisa and Kim. Her grandsons; Maliek Jr., Ron, Myles, Seen, and Kenny. Her granddaughters; Makiyah, Angel, Dalia, Kaylee, Renee, Lil Lisa, Kimmy, Kimara, Leanna, Kenya and Kiara.
