In loving Memory of Edna Webb Bailey, Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother
October 29, 1932 - January 22, 2025
With great sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our mother Edna Bailey on January 22, 2025. She was 92 years young. She was a woman of strength and determination who touched the lives of all she knew.
Born in Enfield, North Carolina Edna moved to Roxbury, Massachusetts as a young child with her mother and 2 sisters. She lived the majority of her life at Warren Gardens in Roxbury, Ma.
Edna worked for many, many years at New Balance until retirement. After her retirement she enjoyed taking care of the elderly (her words), taking them to doctors appointments, grocery shopping etc. Our response was always "you do know that you are part of the elderly community " and her response was"I don't think so ".
Edna was known for her candidness and her ability to speak her mind, always letting those around her know exactly what she thought sometimes with love and care and other times...lookout!! She never held back her advice whether you wanted it or not, she had her say!
Edna is predeceased by her mother, Daisy Williams, her father Eddie Johnson and her two (2) sisters Mildred Fennell and Martha Bundley (aka Jackie Bundley) and her beloved husband William Bailey. She is also survived by her two (2) daughters, Denise Disharoom and Dora Garnett, and her only son Frank James Webb, daughter-in-law Sharon Webb and son-in-law Harry Garnett, also 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Prior to her passing Edna represented five (5 ) living generations of her family.
We would also like to thank a very, very Special family member, Michael Curry for his devotion to our mother in her time of transition. Michael we are speechless.....
Rest in peace Edna, a journey well done.
