Cedric Alexander Mcfarlane

November 21, 1933 — September 12, 2017

King Cedric Alexander McFarlane (nickname) “John Bull” was born on November 21, 1933, Portland Jamaica West Indies to parents Eliazer McFarlane and Juliet King. Cedric spent his early childhood in Havana Cuba with his

father who was born in Havana Cuba.

He returned to Jamaica with his mother and attended Seaside Primary School, upon finishing his apprenticed with his brother Cecil Fuller in carpentry and masonry.

During his young adult years he took on many jobs such as mail carrier for the Jamaica Postal Services, Tractor driver, bus driver and chauffeur. In the mid 50’s he migrated to the US where he worked as a farm worker.

Cedric decided to return to Portland, Jamaica to work with ken Jones family as a first class Rolls Royce, VIP driver. Upon returning to Jamaica he married the love of his life “Veronica Williamson (Spied). They raised five children. He migrated to the USA in 1971 to join his wife a year after their children followed.

Mr.”Mac” as he was dearly called also worked as a Crane Operator at Westinghouse Boston, Massachusetts and a Security Guard at one of Boston’s finest hotels.

King Cedric Alexander McFarlane was intelligent, proud, pristine, honest, outspoken and a disciplinarian with a heart of gold. He enjoyed cooking, cricket, domino, singing and spending time with his grandchildren.

King Cedric Alexander is preceded in death by his father Eliazer McFarlane, mother Juliet King and brothers Cecil and Ernest Fuller.

He is survived by his six children, Orelee McFarlane, Dotsilee McFarlane, Faith McFarlane, Johnny McFarlane, Floretta McFarlane, and Cedric Vise Douglas; ten grandchildren: Carl McFarlane, Tenika McFarlane, Domonique McFarlane, Ishmal Haynes, Delmeshia Haynes, Isiah Haynes, Johnny McFarlane Jr. Aeshia Cummings, Kamar Cummings and Oshea Kerr as well as eighteen great grandchildren.

His thundering voice and elegant and commanding presence will be missed by many.
