Catarina De Andrade

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Catarina De Andrade, age 100, who passed on September 17, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind her legacy of spreading unconditional love and constantly being in prayer for her lord and savior.

Catarina was born in Fogo, Cabo Verde from Alvaro Da Silva and Isabel Lopes. Catarina married Hermogenes Vieira De Andrade and was blessed with 10 children. She migrated to the United States with her family in 1981 where she later devoted her life to caring for her family and raising her Grandchildren.

Our beloved Catarina Andrade was a pure soul with the most unconditional love to give and the most contagious laugh. She was an everlasting treasure and a gift like no other. She was truly known for being the best Vovo. She exuded love to everyone who knew her and embraced all with open arms. Spending time with her family and celebrating life was what brought her the most joy. She was a great story teller and her grandchildren were her most prized possessions. They were her favorite thing to brag about, spend time with and give advice to. She raised them, defended them, protected them and prayed for them constantly. Her positive energy and her strength was unmatched and she fought until her very last breath.

May her legacy of unconditional love, the importance of family, and constantly being in prayer live within us all forever.

Catarina is survived by her children Maria Socorro Vieira De Andrade, Jose Vieira De Andrade, Francisco Vieira De Andrade, Emilia Vieira De Andrade, Maria Vieira De Andrade Cabral, Elviria Vieira De Andrade, Helena Vieira De Andrade Lopes, her siblings Nhanha, Dida, Dalila, Juan (Valdomiro) Da Silva and Alberto (Bebeto) Da Silva, 27 Grandchildren, 45 Greatgrandchildren, and 5 Great Greatgrandchildren. Daughter in-laws Audilla Andrade, Laurinda Lobo Andrade, Merces Andrade , Patricia Andrade. Son in-laws Humberto Pina, Jose Lopes.

She was preceded in death by Alvaro Da Silva (Father), Isabel Lopes (Mother). Her children Raul Andrade, Paulo Andrade, Tchontcha Andrade. Siblings Abel, Tugesa, Anzulina Silva Pina and Clara Centeio, Edith Silva Centeio. Loving brothers, Quintino Antunes, and Manuel (Nelinho) Da Silva and her Grandson Jose (Ze) Gomes Vieira De Andrade. Son in-law Antonio Pina Cabral.
