Dear Lord, It is with the heaviest of hearts, we must relinquish to you the free spirit and gentle soul of Tatia Cynae Jorge Garcia dePass. She was the bright side to anybody's day. A blossoming flower whose life was cut way too short.
At 31 years old, Tatia dePass was admired, accomplished, inspiring, adored, caring, thoughtful, courageous, tremendously gifted, remarkably talented, and overwhelmingly loved by friend and family alike. She was always there when she was needed most. Never hesitated to give a kind word or a sympathetic ear. A beautiful bright spot to anybody's day.
Tatia gave herself flawlessly. She was everybody's best friend to a point where you would swear you had her all to yourself. She was the type of person that let you vent and rant all you want and she would just listen to a point where you didn't realize you dominated the conversation. She honestly and truly is one of the worlds unsung heroes. And she has done all this simply by being herself all the time.
Tatia's brilliance had no limit; her heart had no boundaries. To know her, meant you were infected by her free and unique spirit. At this time, as her spirit transcends, we mourn the loss of a most amazing daughter, beloved family member, favorite cousin, lovable niece, little sister, and the confidant, inspirational, best friend. Today our Lord has hit the jackpot! If you knew Tatia it wouldn't surprise you that her immeasurable love can only be rivaled by her boundless creativity.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Tatia attended the Devotion School for elementary and graduated from Brookline High school in 2005. During her years of growth, she furthered her education at the University of Michigan, the University of North Carolina and obtained her bachelor's degree in Art at Tufts SMFA.
During and after her educational pursuance, she showcased her Artwork in various galleries such as Raw Boston, Nick's Comedy Cafe, Dark Arts House of Blues Foundation, Middle East Restaurant, Cambridge Common Restaurant, Out Of The Blue Gallery, Art at Great Scott, Bunker Hill Community College Gallery and various others.
Tatie specialized in unique Concepts, that could only truly come from her mind. Before her unexpected parting, Tatia was preparing to take a residency in Vermont Studio Center, to enhance a talent that in my eyes, she already mastered.
She is survived by her mother, Sherida; her brother Shondez; her Niece, Alea; her only nephews, Malik, Emmanuel, Nathaniel and a host of her aunts, uncles and cousins.
