John Eric Slayton Sr, born October 18, 1976 to W. Morgan Slayton, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Johnny, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends
was a son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, father, and grandfather.
He transitioned from this earth on September 29, 2020 with family members by his side.
From a very young age, John liked to work with his hands including coloring with his siblings, drawing with his mom, which became a hobby.
At Madison Park High School, and Occupational Center, he learned to work on cars. He also was skillful in plumbing, painting, and eventually carpentry.
John had a passion for creating beautiful things. Anyone who knew John also knew his love for animals.
He owned cats, snakes, and countless dogs (Pit bulls); and even dabbled in breeding them.
John was preceded in death by his loving mother, W. Morgan Slayton in 1994.
He leaves to mourn his passing three aunts, five siblings Virginia (Ginny) Slayton Landover Maryland, Wayne Slayton: Fall River Massachusetts, Mia Humphrey: Medway Massachusetts, Veronica (Roni) Greene: Altavista Virginia, and Victoria (Tori) Slayton: Boston Massachusetts. Three children: Jamal Forrest, John Eric Slayton Jr. and Nikita Rosado all from Boston Massachusetts, two grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
